Where do I start ?

• If you know which part of Southern England you are researching then click on that particular county on the Welcome page.

• If you know the surname, then you should be able to locate it in the left hand border.

• Can't see the surname in the border, then try a search at the bottom of the border. 

- see note below under 'Searching for a name or place'.

Searching for a name or place ?

• Enter the name, place or text that you are looking for.

• Remember that entering for example, 'Graham Redman' in quotes will not find Graham Edward Redman, but entering 'Edward Redman' will find Graham Edward Redman. However, if you leave the quotes out, then all occurrences of Graham & Redman will be displayed.
